About

me 2016

Hello!  My name is Heidi Britz.  I am a speechie (speech language pathologist or SLP or mom, I pretty much answer to any and all of the above) with almost 25 years pediatric experience in hospitals and public schools.  I am currently a SLP in a center based school and love developing materials and ideas to serve my students of varying abilities!

I saw the light when a fellow SLP (thank you Colleen!) introduced me to Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking concepts about ten years ago.  It changed the way I approached therapy and as I learned more, I wanted to share more with my colleagues, community and families.  You will find MANY references to her materials and ideas, and as you share them, please remember to give credit where credit is due (to her)!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for developing an excellent self-assessment and observation tool. As a school-base SLP it is excellent team social language observation tool for team members. I find it a great companion to the Zones curriculum we are using in our school. It is also another way team members organize their thoughts, carry-over language and concepts in social language. I am most challenged to collaborate the data from the team and correspond developmental stages. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, M. L. Jackson
